NightFire, Captian of the newly reformed ShadowBolts, under the patronage of Princess Luna.

NightFire is a great Captain, and a gentle mare who isn't afraid to protect the people she loves. And if they are threatened, she becomes a force to be reckoned with.

But what most ponies don't know, behind that gentle smile and compassionate dispotistion- she is a troubled soul, though she hides it.

NightFire has a history of Nightmares that haunt her sleep every once and awhile- mostly filled with hideous scenes of herself falling into evil as her Ancestor from the Original ShadowBolts did during NightMare Moon's revolt.

NightFire, being under the patronage of Princess Luna- is very close with the Princess, and they are actually very good friends.

Discord (who likes to mess with Luna quite frequently) became interested in NightFire soon after the ShadowBolts got started. At best they have a rocky relationship in the beginning- but her easy going and kind demeanor eventually allowed them to get closer (even though she sometimes wants to snap his head off- she refrains from that though) and now they are actually as close as friends as he is with Fluttershy- and is often popping in to have a chat or mess around with her. Being the 'all knowing' and nosy deity he is- he quickly found out about her frequent nightmares, and has often times popped into her dreams undetected and changed them from nightmares, to peaceful dreams for her (he's a huge softy and he won't let anyone know about it). Luna herself often times checks on NightFire during the night in her wanderings through the DreamScape to make sure no nightmares come.

But when the Nightmares do come, sometimes NightFire is left to deal with them herself, and finds herself wandering the further reahes of Equestria when she should be sleeping, and spends her time alone, finding comfort in the starry nightsky she can see out in the deepest, most isolated parts of Equestria away from all the cities and the towns.

Luna did a beautiful job on the sky tonight.....

... Tomorrow she'll be back with the team and happy and gentle as ever, she always is.
